I ll be honest that I only caught about half of this one on Between the Lions, but I m sure that I ll see the beginning another day I wanted to review this one anyway because I liked the idea of this book The show was using this book partly to talk about the days of the week, but it was also talking about playing pretend This book shows how we can pretend to be someone else by playing dress up I really liked how the daughter doesn t just play pretend on a whim, but she takes on different job I ll be honest that I only caught about half of this one on Between the Lions, but I m sure that I ll see the beginning another day I wanted to review this one anyway because I liked the idea of this book The show was using this book partly to talk about the days of the week, but it was also talking about playing pretend This book shows how we can pretend to be someone else by playing dress up I really liked how the daughter doesn t just play pretend on a whim, but she takes on different jobs that will help her mother out From what I saw, I particularly liked the grocery store when she was a queen in a royal robe Lastly, I really liked that at the end she is dressed as herself

I bought this to cover the illustrations with pictures of Coco and make it her special personalized book, but Sallie insists that I read it 2 10 times each day It s short AND cute So it might have to be Sallie s special book The child in the story dresses up like a pirate, and is just what mama needs to help her swab the deck Then she changes costumes every day, but is always A detective Just what I need .to help me find the missing socks Before I start the book I say the names o I bought this to cover the illustrations with pictures of Coco and make it her special personalized book, but Sallie insists that I read it 2 10 times each day It s short AND cute So it might have to be Sallie s special book The child in the story dresses up like a pirate, and is just what mama needs to help her swab the deck Then she changes costumes every day, but is always A detective Just what I need .to help me find the missing socks Before I start the book I say the names of the days of the week, then the book reinforces by saying, On Monday Abby wore or on Tuesday Abby wore As a bonus, the author lives in Pleasant Grove just minutes from our home

Teaching the days of the week can be boring and confusing for some students In this book Abby plays pretend and each day she s a different character I would read this book in pre k or kindergarten and have students make a calendar chart with Monday Sunday and then the students can draw a picture to illustrate what Abby pretended to be for that day It s also a way for students to begone sequencing the events in a story.

I absolutely adore the story in this book Abby wears different costumes and Mama uses them to make a game of helping her with things around the house Sadly, I absolutely HATE the illustrations Not only are the characters dogs instead of humans, but they are silly looking with exaggeratedly large heads Here s hoping that one day this is illustrated by someone else who can draw humans instead of dogs.

Just What Mama Needs follows Abby through each day of the week as she plays dress up Each dress up is just what Mama needs in her busy day A delightfully told book by a former Altamont Elementary student, Sharlee Glenn, this acquisition is appropriate for PreK 2nd grade students.

This is a creative pup with an evencreative and opportunistic mama She wisely takes full advantage of her pup s dramatic play, turning it into constructive play they do together What s great is the young pup loves being herself best of all.
